SUMMARY:Southgate District Civic Voice AGM
DESCRIPTION:Southgate District Civic Voice AGM + \nAndrian Day takes us on a virtual heritage tour of Palmers Green\nSDCV Annual General Meeting will be followed by a talk by Adrian Day about the Palmers Green Heritage Trail \n \nThe talk will be based on the Heritage Trail I written for the the Enfield Society. \nPalmers Green is a ‘textbook’ example of an Edwardian suburb\, with a surprising number of listed and locally-listed buildings. \nHear about the wartime decontamination shelter; the house where the Lord Mayor of London hosted the Prince Regent together with royalty from Russia\, France and Prussia; and the church designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott’s son. And of course the famous triple-decker Knight Bus from Harry Potter. \nLater in the month\, on May 31st\, Adrian will be leading a group on the actual walk as part of Enfield Council’s ‘Unlocking Broomfield Park’ project. \nAll welcome. Entry £5 (SDCV members free). More details can be found on teh Southgate District Civic Voice website
