Arnos Park Groundforce Day

Friends of Arnos Park volunteers are meeting thsi Saturday in the Arnos Park community garden for their Groundforce Day between 10am and 1pm.

Carols on The Green, Tues 15th December at 6.30pm

The Southgate Green Association and the choir from Christ Church will be singing Christmas carols around the Christmas tree on The Green on Tuesday 17th December at 6.30pm.  It would be lovely if you could come along and join in the festivities, everyone is welcome.

 

Say ‘No’ to Arnos Grove Controlled Parking Zone

Enfield Council is consulting on the introduction of a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) covering the area from The Green, Southgate to Station Road, New Southgate and from Waterfall Road down to the North Circular. The CPZ will apply 7 days a week, from 8.00am to 7.30pm, meaning only residents in the CPZ  area will be able to park there and only if they buy a parking permit.  The roads near retail outlets will become ‘pay to park’.

This will severely impact shops, businesses, religious venues, community meeting spaces in and around the CPZ.  It will also severely impact residents of the CPZ, people living in the surrounding roads and anyone using the retail outlets at The Green. Local Heritage Project

The London Borough of Enfield, in association with the National Lottery Heritage Fund, are seeking project ideas from across the Borough.
They are particularly keen to hear from people or groups who have not applied for Lottery funding previously.
LBE is running a special training event on Thursday 30th January at the Dugdale Centre starting at 6pm to help people with their project ideas and bid submissions.
Funding is available for projects from £5000 upwards.

 

Southgate Green Association will be submitting an application and we  are preparing a list of possible projects for consideration and we are very keen to hear from SGA members who may have ideas of their own.
Currently, our list includes:
Reinstating the Duchess Pond on The Green
Replacing the steel posts and rails around the Village Stocks on The Green
Installing a public notice board on Cannon Hill to promote local events and community group notices
