Planning and Licencing Applications 2023-2024

April 24, 2023 by admin

  • The Mesa: A planning application, supported by the SGA, was made proposing the cladding on the Mesa should be removed.  This was approved, the cladding removed and the building returned to its former style.

  • Ellington Court: The SGA Committee got the determination of a planning application to build a 2-story block of flats behind Ellington Court deferred, this enabled residents to appeal.  The application was subsequently approved.
  • The Heritage Department of the Enfield Borough Council (EBC). The SGA invited newly appointed officers of the Heritage Department, EBC for a walk around The Green to familiarise them with the specific needs of the area.  The meeting subsequently took place in October attended by the Heritage Officers, Denise Gandhi, Chris Horner and Cllr. Pratt.  The Heritage Officers made some suggestions e.g. listing of the light globes at Lulworth Court and became aware of some work being done without appropriate planning permission e.g. window replacements above the vets.
  • Proposed signage on the roundabout. This was opposed by the SGA and the application was rejected
  • Balaams Lane open space. A planning application was made to erect a 6’ high fence around the entire site, closing off the footpath.  SGA members objected and the application was withdrawn.
  • The Walker Cricket Ground – 5G Mast.  An application as made to erect a 5G Mast within the boundary of the Walker Cricket Ground. The SGA and the Walker Cricket Ground encouraged the public to oppose the application which was subsequently rejected.
